Born in 1992, Anne-Sophie Auclerc studied graphic arts at the École Estienne and photography at Les Gobelins. She currently resides in Paris, where she develops projects midway between documentary and artistic photography, while also exploring other mediums such as video and multimedia. Intimacy and body language are central to her approach, which questions stories of experiences in order to understand our relationship with our environment and the others. She is particularly interested in social rituals (12 degrees 12 minutes, 2024), individual routines (Red in the Retina, 2021) and traumatic events (Intermittence, 2018 and It is not recommended to swim in a lake during a thunderstorm, 2019) that shape our daily lives and personality. Each of her series is constructed as a deliberately fragmented narration to let the viewer project their imagination.
